Redline:Time Attack! will be broken up into three divisions, and then further divided into three subdivisions:

Street Class

Modified Class

Unlimited Class

Drift Class

Championship Points System

Vehicle Classes

Section 3. MODIFIED CLASS

The Modified Class is designed for vehicles that are more heavily modified and/or and have a greater specific power output.

Rules for Modified Class Cars:

    • Modified Class cars do not need to be currently registered for street use.
    • Professional Drivers are permitted in Modified Class.

    • Replacement of OEM glass with lightweight material is strictly prohibited. Removal of OEM glass is strictly prohibited. The only exception to this rule is for the front door glass, which may be removed if door bar is Installed.
    • All Modified Class vehicles are required to use DOT approved tires with UTQG tread wear ratings of 50 and above. Tires with less than a UTQG rating of 50 are not permitted in Modified Class.

    • Tire Exception: The BFGoodrich R1 tire may be used in the Modified Class
    • “Full carbon fiber bodied” vehicles prohibited from Modified Class. These vehicles must compete in Unlimited Class

    • Carbon Fiber and other light weight material (non-OEM) Hoods, Trunks/Hatches/Fenders/Doors/Roof permitted.
    • Sequential Gear Boxes Not Permitted in Modified Class.

    • Full under trays are allowed
    • Wide Body Kits Allowed

    • Fender Flares Allowed
    • Convertibles with hard tops can utilize Carbon Fiber/Aluminum/Fiberglass hard tops.

    • Removal of OEM convertible hardware and equipment is permitted. Factory roll over protection may only be removed if aftermarket roll protection is installed.
    • All Modified Class vehicles are not permitted to have fully "gutted" interiors.

    • Vehicle carpet may be entirely removed
    • Vehicle headliner may be entirely removed

    • OEM Dash must be installed. All components associated with and connected to the Dash, must also remain. These include items such as, but not limited to: glove box, venting, ducts, OEM gauge cluster, left/center/right kick panels, etc. The heater core and assembly may be removed. If components are not installed, the vehicle will be required to run with a ballast weight of 50lbs as a penalty. The ballast weight must be safely secured to the vehicle and satisfy Redline Tech Inspection/Chief Steward inspection(s).
    • OEM front door panels may be removed. Front doors may be “gutted”.
    • Interior components behind driver seat may be removed.

    • Replacement of drivers and passenger seat with aftermarket seats is permitted.
    • Passenger seat may be removed entirely.

    • Factory restraints are permitted for vehicles in Modified Class. If an aftermarket harness is installed in the vehicle, the harness must also include a submarine belt. The aftermarket harness must pass the Redline Time Attack safety inspection. Exception: The Schroth brand of 4-point harnesses with ASM Technology is permitted to be used without an anti-submarine belt.
    • Full roll cages are permitted in Modified class. A safety inspection of the roll cage will be performed. If the roll cage is deemed to be unsafe by the Chief of Inspections, the vehicle will not be permitted to participate in the event.

    • Snell 2000 or higher rated helmet required.
    • All drivers in Modified Class must wear a fire suit or a combination of a fire jacket and fire pants, with a minimum SFI rating of SFI 3.2A/1

    • A tow hook or tow strap must be installed on the front of the vehicle prior to being allowed on track. The tow hook/strap must be properly marked so it is easy to locate by the safety personnel.
    • All Modified Class vehicles must have a Fire Extinguisher mounted within the cockpit of the vehicle, within reach of the driver while normally seated, belts fastened and steering wheel in place. The mounting hardware should be nuts and bolts, not sheet metal screws, and the bracket should be metal and of the quick release type. Fire bottles constructed of plastic or aerosol-type cans are prohibited.

The following chemicals are permitted:

1A10BC multipurpose, ammonium phosphate and barium sulfate or Monnex; 10BC potassium bicarbonate (Purple K) or sodium bicarbonate; Halon 1301 or 1211, two pounds minimum; ABC dry chem., two pounds minimum

    • Convertibles allowed on track with roll bars. Some cars with factory roll protection are allowed if they are equipped with a factory OEM roll protection system. Check with your car manufacture to determine the effectiveness of roll protection.
    • “Honda Challenge” H4 cars are eligible for the Redline Time Attack Modified Class, so long as the vehicle meets H4 Class rules.
  • See "Vehicle Classification List" For List of Vehicles Relegated to Unlimited Class. i.e. some vehicles will NOT be permitted in the Street or Modified Class due to specific horse power or other specifications. For example, a Ferrari Enzo or Porsche Carrera GT will be relegated to the Unlimited class due to there "super car" specification.
